Making Room for My Girl

August 20th, 2008 John Posted in Baby No Comments »

Have I mentioned that we have our house all torn up right now?  We cleared out our guest room because its the bigger of the two extra rooms and it will become my office / guestroom.  So, for the record if you come to stay with us after the baby is born you will be crashing in my office.  Since both my old office and the old guest room had a lot of stuff in them we had a huge mess in the house while we had them both cleared out.  We finally after 2 weeks got our house presentable again but don’t ask to see either of the rooms.  They are both still under construction.

Having said that, I will post some of the little projects that I will be working in regards to the room changes.  I have been inspired to write stuff up with great detail because as I look around online I find that no one really puts any good, in depth write ups for small around the house projects.

I will have my camera handy when I am working on my stuff.

Baby Update: Guess What…

August 15th, 2008 John Posted in Baby No Comments »

We had our ultrasound yesterday and we found out what we are having.  The blog delay is so that we had a chance to tell all the appropriate family first before posting for all the world to see.

So, I can confidently say the result were conclusive…

Yup, the Woolseys are having a little girl! We were totally expecting to hear that it was a boy - so many people thought it would be a boy for so many different reasons, even we thought it was going to be a boy.  THe only person that thought it would be a girl was my mom.  Its good and we are getting excited about it.  I am starting to quickly like the idea of my family in about a year - spending a morning on our day off hanging out with my girls.

Whats New

Hey, sorry I haven’t been around much.  Its been a rough period of time that I hope to be emerging from.  I have been fighting with some pretty oppressive things and have actually been a little depressed for a while.  If you know me in person you might find this hard to imagine but in my own way, I have been.  Christy says I am not allowed to be depressed while she is pregnant and she is right.  Speaking of Christy, I would love to post a belly picture of her but I can’t find any of the ones that she has and believe me, I have been looking.

So, even though I have been resisting it I think that God is starting to uproot me again.  Not in a huge way but I find myself looking for a job.  Sure, money is tough right now for the church but its more than that.  I am ready to be a significant financial contributor to my family again and I think that God will provide something that will leave me available for ministry.  I have one in mind but I won’t bore you with the details, just pray with me that my desire to find meaninful income without burdening our church will be honored.

A Fun Happening

July 17th, 2008 John Posted in Baby, Blogging 1 Comment »

Wow, it has been a while since I have written anything.  I have actually been avoiding my blog for the last couple of weeks because I just haven’t felt like taking the time to write.  So, to prove that we are still alive and that things are just fine, I thought I would update those that are still paying attention on the baby front.

Yesterday Christy called me about 7:30am and told me that she just felt the baby kick!  We were both happy to hear about that and she said she couldn’t stop giggling every time she felt it.  All day as she walked around she would notice that it would stop and stay put for a while the baby would wake up and start screwing around again.  Its fun to start assigning a personality to it already.  When Christy moves around and rocks him/her to sleep and then the baby gets all roudy when she calms down.

So, fun stuff.  I will try to get back into a writing routine again so keep an eye out.

Its A Baby

Today was Christy’s first OB appointment. I was really busy today and felt a little guilty about spending such a large chunk of the day out of the ‘office’ but I knew this was going to be important. I have to say, I was so surprised at how special seeing the baby for the first time was! Christy was really shocked and all she could do was cry when we saw the video of the baby wiggling and bouncing around. I just laughed. The doctor commented on the baby’s long legs and level of activity. She says it looks like a healthy baby. Thats good news. Both of us are experiencing the image of our baby etched into our minds. Christy said that even without thinking about it, when she closes her eyes she just sees the video of our baby. I don’t see it when I close my eyes, but I think about it often. Just thinking about it now kind of makes me want to laugh. I can’t explain it. The official due date as per the ‘magic eight ball’ wheel is Dec 25. Thats right, Christmas. We are hoping a little more like a New Years baby, but what can we do?

Enjoy the pictures. Most of you will look for a few seconds and move along - me too if it wasn’t my baby. Instead, I will just stare for a while.
