Lawn Update | Spring is Afoot

I went outside today around lunchtime to get a few pictures of my yard in progress and I spotted my geranium on the patio and the flowers opened up this morning. This little guy has worked hard and survived some pretty adverse conditions and I am so pleased to see it doing well now that I have it transplanted to the pot.

Now, back to the sprinklers: I am a big fan of symmetry when I am laying things out and I was fighting to make the sprinkler heads symmetric but I was having a hard time getting good coverage. My brother-in-law was over a couple of days ago and he asked me why I cared about symmetry when my concern should be proper coverage. I took to that question and started putting them in one at a time. After each one was installed I would turn the system on and see how the coverage and pressure had changed. I would then stick a flag in the ground where I thought I needed another head. After a couple of evenings of digging and placing I am almost there. I have two more to put in and I will have a perfect system. The lawn sprinklers ONLY water the lawn and the garden sprinklers ONLY water the garden. Imagine that!

Check back often, I will keep posting and don’t forget to check out the photo album, I just updated it with the latest yard shots.
