Yard Update | So Trees ARE 90% Air!

My back yard
So today was the day that I got to use a wood chipper for the first time. I can’t believe it was even today because it only took 2 hours this morning. Its a scary and very heavy machine but with the proper fear most people should be fine. Well, its all gone. Do you see the little tiny pile of wood chips on the right side of the picture? Yup, thats whats left of the beaver dam. It doesn’t look like much but I just took a break to shovel some wood chips and get a feel for how much there is. I have already moved a few cubic feet and haven’t made much of a dent in it so its more than it looks like. The mulch isn’t normal mulch either. Since most of the branches were finger size they went through the chipper and came out like little stumpy logs. Its hard to explain, but my mulch is going to look custom. Being mostly fig, some apricot, plumb, thorn tree and a little bit of dimensional lumber its very colorful. I can’t wait to get it spread out and show everyone.

You desert rats, if you want some fire wood let me know. There was lots of wood that wouldn’t go through the chipper and it will have to go as well. Just drop me a line and you can have as much as you want.

Next: I need to get some pavers for the root barrier line. I have tons of weed cloth to lay down from last year. After the pavers and mulch are down, all thats left is to scalp and reseed the lawn. Yeah, summer is coming back! Boccie tournament is on!
