The Good: The hot tub is finally hooked up! That was close, with only a couple days to spare. And everyone thought I was being way early and super prepared. Apparently, I was just on time getting this thing a month ago. But, its finally up, filled and running and we got to soak in it for almost an hour last night. This also marks a good turn of event with the yard as I finally got to start filling some of the holes I have been digging. That makes me happy because we are just that much closer to having our yard back.
The Bad: On the side of the house I have had a side project going. I have been filling low spots with dirt that has been coming out of the rest of the yard. Its been going well and I have been running over the Lowes from time to time to pick up a giant sack (.33 cubic yards) of 3/4″ gravel. Its a big load for the little Tacoma but it does the job ok. I back the truck in there and dump it out and level it off. It was all going well until today when I tried to back in the second load, which has been in my truck for 4 days now due to rain and mud in my yard. Knowing the potential for mud, I put some stuff down on the ground to help with traction. It was so bad that the truck spit those items out and then buried itself up to the rims. Thats right…oh yes, stuck in the mud…in my front lawn… Fortunately about then one of my neighbors came home and I hitched my tow straps to the back of her truck. All was better, but the scars remain.
Progress can be slow with this thing, but I refuse to surrender. It will be completed, one bite at a time.
