Well here we are, its a lovely rainy day which I am happy to see. This place needs some moisture. We have had so many winters in a row with very little rain. This year is more than making up for the last couple – although I am told that its not making up for the larger drought that the south west has suffered over the years.
I am happy though because my yard is getting all the water its going to need to get it fired off when spring rolls around. And, it is making the ground soft enough to dig my trench (see picture above).
I thought I would post a progress picture of my yard. Christy’s birthday present is looking fantastic, standing proud in the back of the yard. The fig tree is still around in BIG way but we will make short work of that soon enough. This weekend we are hoping to run conduit and wiring thanks to some handy friends. Once that is buried we can make the final step of cleaning out the tub and drain tubes of the spa and filling it.
Next in line: lawn edging to contain the large quantity of wood chips I will be producing with that fig tree. Lawn edging has been a long time coming but I have been too cheap and too lazy to do put any in. I guess this is the shove over the edge I needed. I just can’t wait for this to be done so my credit card can cool off and I can sit on my patio and have a glass of orange juice in the morning sun while I am looking at my back yard getaway.
