Friends | Bob & Sue are Leaving

If you know us you probably have met or at least heard of our friends Bob & Sue.  They have played and continue to play a major part in our lives.  Bob was the guy that handed me my first set of keys.  In fact, as I think about that statement I realize that it is more than just metaphoric.  When we started going to the church that Bob was pastoring and I started getting involved he actually gave me a copy of the keys to the church, I could unlock any door on the campus.  Hmm…  Back to the point at hand; they are getting ready to leave town and move on to where God is taking them next.  First, its to Minnesota to stay with their daughter and her family.  But then its on to Ft. Wayne, Indiana to check out an emerging ministry there.  I don’t know if they have a name but Bob has created a website called MainStreetMissions to develop a forum to make their ministry public.  In short, they and their team, if they choose to join them, will move into the inner city of Ft. Wayne and get jobs.  Ft. Wayne is a second tier city, which means they have a really depressed inner city ($30,000 homes) and is ethnically diverse without any ghettos.  They will work to develop relationships with their neighbors and see if the creation of disciples leads to the planting of a church.  Exciting stuff, look for more on this emerging ministry on this blog.
